Jack was seriously in need of financial guidance.

He owned a small building business, which despite the assistance of a business coach, was still suffering significant cash flow problems.

“I have hostile creditors and I’m worried that I may even be trading insolvent,” he stated, in his first contact with Rob Thornthwaite at CondonTreasure.

Rob immediately set about helping Jack implement a financial plan which would:

  • determine the immediate cashflow and how to manage it
  • set up a schedule of achievable payment arrangements
  • prepare a budget for the following 3 months with a series of small, manageable steps and
  • show clearly how to reduce debts in the future.

Jack’s problems had started with an inefficient project manager who had not been controlling the costs on jobs. Once Jack realized his margins weren’t being translated directly into profit, he implemented the recommendations in the plan formulated with Rob, to:

  • adjust variations on jobs which were not making a profit and
  • re-direct the unproductive project manager to become actively involved in cost control.

Jack is now in a positive cash flow situation and feeling much less stressed.

“Thanks to Rob, I now have a much better understanding of my own business finances and how to manage them.”
